Student Hubs
Student Hubs will simplify and enhance the way that students access support services both on and off campus, making student support services more accessible and consistent for all students.
At the moment our student support services are provided at many points across campus, with Departmental, School, Faculty and Central Services delivered in different places. We are transitioning to a model of School-based Hubs for taught students and Faculty-based Hubs for postgraduate researchers.
Hubs will be clearly signposted and accessible physical spaces, with core opening hours for students to seek support face-to-face. Students can go to Hubs to ask questions, raise issues and get referrals to our support services like Counselling and DASS.
Students will be directed by local communications and signage to their own 'home' Hub as the place to initially raise queries. They can get programme-specific support at their own School Hub and general support at any Hub.
Queries will either be resolved by the Hub team, or passed as a referral to the relevant support team. School-based staff and Faculty-based PGR teams will continue to work closely with students and academics, and be the specialist referral point for more complex programme-specific queries.
