In January 2026, over 200 colleagues came together to focus on how we move from strategy to delivery.

The conference created a clear link between our ambitions and what they mean in practice, helping leaders move beyond what we are trying to achieve, to how we make it happen.

Discussions focused on the priorities set out in our three-year work package, how we work across boundaries, and the role leaders play in driving accountability - with a strong emphasis on clarity and shared ownership. 

The key message was simple: delivering our strategy depends on consistent decisions, shared accountability, and a common sense of purpose.

Building on this, the first Leadership Hub in April 2026 focused on Financial Sustainability – a key priority reflected in our Board outcomes - moving the conversation on from understanding the strategy to the decisions needed to deliver it.  

Colleagues explored the realities of the University’s financial position and the trade-offs involved in prioritising investment. Through an interactive session, leaders worked through how to balance competing priorities and make effective financial choices.

A clear theme emerged: resources are limited so delivering our ambitions means making clear choices together

It also marked a step forward in how we approach delivery with a stronger focus on informed decision making and working through complexity
