Meetings and events

The 200 provides opportunities for leaders to connect and build relationships which encourage mutual support and collective progress. Here are some of the ways The 200 has come together so far:

Meetings to date

200 Launch (January 2025): This first meeting focused on exploring the shift from conventional thinking to breakthrough thinking whilst also sharing leadership commitments.

Strategy update (April 2025): This meeting focused on strategy updates with input from our President and Vice-Chancellor, Duncan Ivison.

Networking (June 2025): This informal event was held to create relationships that encourage collaboration, innovation, and mutual support.

September Conference: This session gave a preview of the key themes in the Manchester 2035 strategy, with time for discussion, networking and a Q&A panel with the University Executive Team. The afternoon focused on group discussions on four major themes from the strategy: Students; Research Partners and Funders; Communities and our Civic Role and what M2035 means for colleagues.

Upcoming meetings

The 200 will be coming together regularly to explore ideas, focus on strategic initiatives, and develop leadership skills.

Spring 2026 Conference: This session will focus on the implementation of the first stages of the strategy.  We’ll continue exploring new ideas to deliver real and tangible outcomes across our foundations and leaps.

Throughout 2026: Quarterly workshops taking a closer look at the opportunities and challenges our University – and ourselves as leaders – face. Continuing to build collaborative relationships as we bring our One University approach to life.
