Programme amendments

The University's Teaching and Learning Delivery Team provides detailed Programme Amendment Guidance on the levels of approval and documentation required for different types of programme amendments.

There have been substantial changes to the programme amendment form and matrix that came into force in September 2025. As such, if you have already started using a previous version of these documents you can continue to complete them for the 2026 submission deadline listed in bold below.

Any proposed future changes should be discussed with your Faculty Teaching and Learning Officer (Education Development, Policy, Procedure and Practice) to determine the exact requirements for approval and where the amendment falls within the new matrix.

Minor programme amendments can be submitted through the School Programme and Curriculum Team via either the Minor Programme Amendment School Spreadsheetor by their own standardised spreadsheet. The deadline for minor amendments will be set by the School, with approval from the Faculty Vice-Dean TLS, and must be before 31 August.

Significant and Major Amendments should adhere to the Faculty of Humanities Framework for the Approval of Major Amendments or for validated partners the Faculty of Humanities Approval of Major Amendments Framework for Validated Partners, where applicable.
