Faculty of Humanities

Welcome

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Faculty of Humanities Annual Leadership Conference on Thursday 4 June at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS).

This year our conference theme is ‘Strategy, delivery and change’. It will incorporate aspects including:

  • A keynote discussion with Jenn Hallam, Vice-President for Teaching, Learning and Students, and Simon Merrywest, Executive Director for the Student Experience;
  • research, teaching and learning, and EDI workshops;
  • showcase presentations;
  • a student panel session; and
  • a Faculty Executive Q&A.

In common with last year, to encourage sustainability, we will not be providing a paper-based conference pack. On these StaffNet pages you will find:

  • the conference programme;
  • directions to our conference venue on the third floor of AMBS;
  • the full delegate list, which also includes your workshop session groups;
  • profiles of Jenn Hallam and Simon Merrywest;
  • information about each of our conference sessions; and
  • contact details for key conference team colleagues.

Venue

The main conference will take place in room 3.006 of AMBS, with breakout workshop sessions in rooms on the same floor. There will be no signage for the event in the building. Please see the ‘How to find us’ page for directions, and the conference team will guide you at points along the route.

Water

Tea and coffee will be served at registration and during lunchtime and other breaks, but if you would like water, please bring your own water bottle with you where possible. You will be able to fill it throughout the day at a water station in our refreshment area. Glasses will also be available.
