Professor Khalid Nadvi begins new role as Head of SEED

Today (1 August 2025), Khalid Nadvi starts his new position as Vice-Dean and Head of the School of Environment, Education and Development.

Khalid Nadvi, Professor of International Development at the Global Development Institute (GDI), has now started his new position as Head of SEED. He is taking over from interim Head of School, Professor Juup Stelma, who will become Deputy Head of School.
Khalid has previously held positions as Managing Director of the GDI and Director of Research in SEED.
Khalid said: “I am honoured and excited to start my new role. Our collegial environment as a School is one of our greatest strengths, and I am very much looking forward to meeting and working with colleagues to maximise SEED’s potential and jointly tackle our challenges.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Juup for his outstanding leadership as interim Head of School. His commitment, along with the dedication and expertise of our academic and professional services colleagues, mean that I step into my new position with the School having much to celebrate.
