Flexible Learning: give your views on shaping our Digital Learning Environment

06 Dec 2021

As our University moves to blended and flexible learning at a greater scale, we want to ensure that the Digital Learning Environment (DLE) is able to provide the right digital infrastructure to support excellent teaching and learning

What is the Digital Learning Environment?

DLE includes virtual learning environment (VLE) technology (web-based platforms that support teaching and learning), alongside the wide range of digital tools and applications required to support teaching and learning.

Join our staff workshops

The workshops will be your opportunity to feed into the future of our digital learning environment. They will focus on the software, platforms and tools needed for teaching, learning, assessments, and student engagement.

We want to know more about your experiences of current teaching and learning practices, staff and student needs, and hear your views on what could make a real difference to the future of teaching, learning and the student experience. You don’t need technical expertise to join – just an interest in any aspect of teaching and learning from curriculum design to assessment.

Staff workshops will take place on the following dates:

  • 19 January 2022, 2-3.30pm (online)
  • 2 February 2022, 2-3.30pm (face to face or online, depending on COVID restrictions)

To register, simply complete our sign-up form (this will take around three minutes). Please only sign up to one session, as they will cover the same topics.

We will also run student workshops to listen to their views on how the DLE can support their learning and student journey.

Next steps

Your feedback will shape the DLE Review final report that will be produced in May 2022. This report will provide recommendations and solution options for the future DLE. If you have any questions about the Digital Learning Environment Review, or would like to feed in via email, please contact us at FlexibleLearning@manchester.ac.uk.
