About Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is a priority for all at The University of Manchester.

Our future, the University’s Strategic Plan recognises EDI within the core theme of ‘Our people, our values’ which underpins all that we do here at Manchester. This led to the creation of the EDI Directorate in 2021.

Our focus is to deliver our EDI strategy which takes a holistic approach that celebrates individuals and their many identities, extending beyond our statutory obligations, so that we become a truly inclusive organisation where EDI is embedded in all that we do and who we are.
