Supporting statements

Your application should include supporting statements (or references) that corroborate your application and support your application for AdvanceHE fellowship. Each supporting statement must be unique and be written from first-hand experience of your teaching and support for learning.

Supporting statements should be from someone who has a good awareness of your teaching and learning practice and can be from a senior colleague, line manager/supervisor, peer or a learner. We recommend that you contact potential referees as early as possible to check whether they are willing to write a supporting statement for you.

Applications for Associate Fellow, Fellow and Senior Fellow must include two supporting statements. We recommend that at least one supporting statement is from someone internal to the University. Supporting statements can be provided as a reference letter or referees can complete the LEAP referee report form.

Applications for Principal Fellow must include three supporting statements. For Principal Fellow, at least one of the supporting statements must be from a colleague external to the University and at least one referee must hold an AdvanceHE fellowship or National Teaching Fellowship.
