Emma Ormerod (School of Health Sciences)
Emma is a senior clinical lecturer in the division of Psychology, Communication and Human Neuroscience. She qualified as a speech and language therapist 25years ago and has spent her career working in the NHS and lecturing on the BSc Speech and Language therapy programme here at the University of Manchester. Emma’s strategic vision to include more experiential learning opportunities to support student to gain confidence and competence in their clinical and professional skills led to simulation being embedded simulation onto the BSc Speech and Language therapy programme. Emma’s blend of scholarship, innovation and pragmatism has led to recognition both nationally and internationally for her work in this area.
