Transnational Education

Transnational Education (TNE), formerly University of Manchester Worldwide (UMW), is delivered by the Education Development team as part of the Student and Academic Services Division. We aim to provide a wide range of opportunities for students, wherever they live, so they can benefit from a University of Manchester education. Our team partner with academic colleagues across the University to help transform their course into a quality online or blended learning experience.

The Transnational Education Handbook outlines the process of working with TNE to develop a course.

Listen to Alex McTaggart, the Academic theme lead for Transnational Education, as he explains the vision and need for TNE in the University.

The Flexible Learning Programme and Transnational Education work hand-in-hand to realise the vision for lifelong flexible learning that is inclusive, accessible and international. The team are working together to expand our transnational offer so that it is accessible worldwide; supporting digital skills development for students and staff.  Visit the flexible learning website for further information or download a copy of the flexible learning strategy.
