Taught programme enhancement

Teaching and Learning Delivery (TLD)'s Taught Programme Enhancement (TPE) team co-ordinates the development and management of a framework of processes to support the approval, monitoring and review of taught programmes, including those offered collaboratively with other institutions. It works closely with Faculties to ensure that the framework assures academic standards and the quality of student experience across the University but also that the quality processes are collegial and effective rather than confrontational and bureaucratic. There is also a process for reviewing the quality framework.

The TPE team oversees the quality framework for undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes. This framework includes distributed learning and provision delivered in collaboration with other institutions. The Graduate Education team of the Research and Business Engagement Support Services oversees the quality framework for research degree programmes. The quality framework encompasses the procedures for securing, maintaining and enhancing the standards of academic programmes and the students' learning experience.

In developing and monitoring these processes TLD colleagues also help to ensure that the University is ready for external quality visits, such as the Higher Education Review (formerly known as Institutional Audit).

The TLD team publishes and maintains teaching and learning policies and procedures.

For full details of the processes which are included in the Quality Framework/Taught Programme Enhancement, please see the list on the left.

The Taught Programme Enhancement team also oversees Student Surveys and student voice in programme enhancement. More information can be found about these areas from the purple boxes below.
