Campaign saw coverage in more than 20 of India’s top-tier media outlets and more than 3,200 web visits

Our delegation in India

The Division of Communications and Marketing ran an integrated campaign to support a University delegation to India, one of our key markets, which included representatives from the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre and Manchester Museum.

Activity included traditional media relations by engaging with journalists based in India and UK correspondents. This resulted in widespread positive coverage in more than 20 of India’s top-tier media outlets including Hindustan Times and Times of India. The stories issued to the media covered our graphene expertise and the University’s collaborative research around air quality in Delhi, the latter being a topical issue at the time of travel.

To raise awareness about our presence in the market, which included attending a series of high-profile stakeholder meetings and participating in the British Council Study UK recruitment fair, we launched a three-week social media campaign targeting specific Indian audiences. By launching multiple campaigns from our corporate Twitter and LinkedIn accounts, we had more than 3,200 web visits from India to all associated campaign pages.

A picture-led brochure featuring case studies, a narrative about our work with the region and future vision, plus India-related facts, was produced for key stakeholders in India. You can see this online at:
