Inspiring Conversations
Managers and leaders will be asked to work with their teams in the coming months to think about the future of the University and collectively produce a Big Idea that could impact on how the University moves forward.
This skill burst session is one of two and focuses on the key capabilities to help managers and leaders facilitate a team discussion on looking to the future.
The session aimed to inspire you to develop an engaging and effective approach to communications through:
- Developing an understanding of why effective two-way communication is vital to team engagement and effectiveness
- Introducing and using some tried and tested models and approaches for structuring important messages
- Exploring a range of communication styles and audience profiles
Time: 90 minutes
Generating Big Ideas
Managers and leaders will be asked to work with their teams in the coming months to think about the future of the University and collectively produce a Big Idea that could impact on how the University moves forward.
This skill burst session is one of two and focuses on the key capabilities to help managers and leaders facilitate a team discussion about generating a number of ideas for the future University direction, and selecting the most inspiring and impactful idea.
This session will help managers work with their teams to generate a ‘Big Idea’ for the future of the University through:
- A brief guide to facilitation skills
- Practising facilitation and idea generation
- Shortlisting ideas
- Communicating the Big Idea
Time: 90 minutes
