FSE GTA Training
The content and delivery of training for Graduate Teaching Assistants in the Faculty of Science and Engineering is currently under review. Graduate Teaching Assistants who have applied for GTA work in Semester 1 of 2025/26 will be contacted regarding upcoming training opportunities.
Core modules for all staff
GTAs are not currently required to complete the "Essential Courses for All Colleagues” which was rolled out to all University staff in December 2024. GTAs will be required to complete this additional training in the 2025/26 academic year.

Advance HE Fellowship
If you are a GTAs and have completed over a semester of teaching experience, completed your required training modules, and would like to get more recognition for your teaching practice, then you can enrol on the University of Manchester's Advance HE Fellowship Scheme.
This will support you in completing an application for Associate Fellowship of Advance HE (AFHEA); a qualification that will enhance your teaching career and professional development.
