Four positions are open for colleagues to help lead emergency response in MECD

The Faculty of Science and Engineering is looking for four enthusiastic leaders to join the MECD Emergency Management Organisation in the capacity as Duty Emergency Controller (DEC).

Reporting to the FSE Emergency and Resilience Manager, this will be an additional duty to colleagues’ substantive roles and as such will be paid £1200 per annum, for a commitment of two days per four-week period. The post holders will be Grade 6 and above with strong leadership credentials who would be prepared to act as the DEC. It should generally be possible for those on duty to perform their normal duties with little disruption.

As DEC you will be responsible for taking command of all emergencies within MECD should they arise and leading the University’s operational response in conjunction with other agencies including the Emergency Services.
