Temporary changes to Engineering Building B access - Tuesday, 2 - Sunday, 7 April

21 Mar 2024

Colleagues requiring access into Engineering Building B should familiarise themselves with the below guidance

Between Tuesday, 2 and Sunday, 7 April, maintenance work will be taking place to upgrade the flooring of the Second Floor concourse between Cores 2 and 3 in Engineering Building A. As a result, access into Engineering Building B via the Second-Floor link bridge will be temporarily restricted during this time – further details around the restricted zone can be found here.

During this time, staff and students requiring access into Engineering Building B should enter and exit via the Ground Floor Rumford Street entrance directly below the link bridge. Please note that this entrance requires swipe-card access only so you’ll need to ensure you have your swipe-card on your person at all times when entering and exiting the building.

Swipe-card access into Engineering Building B should automatically be available for anybody based in the MECD workspace upon completion of their building induction but if this does not apply to you or you’re ensure, please contact TEAM@manchester.ac.uk in advance of this work taking place to ensure there’s no delays. Furthermore, if you anticipate colleagues based outside of MECD may need to access the building for meetings, please circulate this information to them beforehand and arrange to meet them in order to allow them into the space.

Please note Connect Café will be closed during this time but Café Collaborate (Ground Floor, Core 4, Engineering Building A – next to the event space) will remain open.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and, if you have any questions please get in touch via TEAM@manchester.ac.uk
