Local gas and house gas manifold shutdown - January 2024

Lab users across Engineering Buildings A & B and York Street Building will need to temporarily isolate equipment using house gases and gas manifolds to accomodate annual system servicing in January 2024
As part of annual system servicing, a number of house gases and local gas manifolds will need to be isolated each evening between Monday, 8 – Friday, 19 January 2024 across all labs within Engineering Buildings A&B and York Street Building.
To ensure that this work can be carried out safely and efficiently, we ask that all lab users familiarise themselves with the schedule of activity below and make sure that any equipment using house gases and local gas manifolds are isolated by the outlined times at the latest:
Local gas servicing schedule

Subject to successful servicing of each supply, gases will be safe to turn back on the following morning from 7:30am. We will keep lab users informed as work progresses but ask that Friday, 12 January may also need to be kept free to accommodate for any potential issues or delays in earlier works.
Local gas manifold servicing schedule
Please note that manifold testing will be carried out on a floor-by-floor basis and require all labs within these areas to isolate all equipment using these gases by the times outlined:

Servicing of supplies is a statutory requirement for our Faculty and without cooperation from all lab users these tests cannot be completed. If you expect there may be any issues in your area which will affect your ability to isolate your supplies or you have any questions, please reach out to the Infrastructure & Facilities Team at FSE.InF@manchester.ac.uk as soon as possible.
