House gases shutdown and pressure testing: Friday 17 - Monday 20 March

06 Mar 2023

Laboratory and workshop users should ensure any systems and experiments reliant on house gases are isolated by 5:00pm on Friday 17 March

Please be aware that between 5:00pm on Friday 17 March and 10:00am Monday 20 March, house gas supplies across all Engineering Building A & B and York Street Building laboratories will be switched off. This is to allow annual pressure tests and installation works to be carried out over this weekend, temporarily disrupting supplies of the following gases:

  •  Argon;
  • Oxygen;
  • Carbon Dioxide;
  • Nitrogen;
  • Compressed air.

If you have active systems or experiments which require any of the above gases, please ensure these have been safely isolated before 5:00pm on Friday 17 March. Supplies will become available once again from 10:00am on Monday 20 March, from which point experiments and systems can be safely reactivated.

Please note, this shutdown will be the first of annual pressure testing which is due to take place in March each year going forward.
