Distinguished Achievement Awards

About the President's Distinguished Achievement Awards

University

Each year, the President and Vice-Chancellor invites nominations for the prestigious Distinguished Achievement Awards.

Most categories of the awards are co-ordinated by the Faculties, the exceptions being the Professional Services and Cultural Institutions individual and team awards and the general category.  There will be a winner from each Faculty in the Researcher, PGR, PGT, UG and Teacher categories. For the Professional Services and Cultural Institutions’ category there are three individual awards and two team awards.

The rarely needed General category does not have a specific number of awards available.

Academic and student categories of the Distinguished Achievement Awards

As in previous years, Faculties will coordinate nominations for Distinguished Achievement Awards in the following categories:

  • Teacher of the Year
  • Researcher of the Year
  • Undergraduate Student of the Year
  • Postgraduate Researcher of the Year
  • Postgraduate Taught Student of the Year

Faculties will publicise these awards via their own channels.

The call is made in early September each year for the Postgraduate Taught student category with conferments taking place in the winners’ winter graduation ceremonies. For the other categories the call is made in mid-September with the awards being presented the following summer.
