AMBS professor joins team of specialist AI advisors

Congratulations to Professor Richard Allmendinger who has been appointed as an Independent Scientific Advisor (ISA) for the BridgeAI programme, part of Innovate UK.
Bridge AI drives the adoption of responsible AI in the UK by bridging the gap between innovation and implementation. As well as expert support, collaborative knowledge sharing and empowering businesses within a trusted eco system, BridgeAI will offer tailored funding.
This is a big initiative for the government to support AI commercialisation. In total, 12 ISAs across academia and industry support the programme. Richard’s appointment is the first from the University.
Richard said: “I am delighted to be representing the University as part of BridgeAI. Not only can we share the best practice and interdisciplinary knowledge gained here at Manchester, but we can harness this knowledge and community collaboration as part of our ongoing development."
Richard is Professor of Applied Artificial Intelligence and Associate Dean for Business Engagement, Civic and Cultural Partnerships for the Faculty.
Innovate UK has launched a £100m AI fund for UK businesses as part of the initiative.
