SEED Academic Staff Survey | Share your views on Generative AI in SEED by Mon 3 June

15 May 2024

Generative AI is rapidly transforming many aspects of our lives, including higher education. Our students are already using these tools, and we need to ensure that our policies and practices around AI use are informed by the perspectives of educators.

All members of academic staff within SEED are invited to complete a short survey. This forms part of a study that critically examines staff and student perspectives within SEED on students' use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in assignments. In addition, members of staff within the Manchester Institute of Education are invited to participate in a focus group.

Your input will help us:

  • Understand the assumptions and concerns of educators regarding student use of AI.
  • Develop practical guidance for staff and students on the appropriate use of AI in learning and assessment.
  • Inform policies that enable innovative teaching while maintaining academic integrity.

The research is being conducted by members of staff, postgraduate researchers and postgraduate taught students within the Manchester Institute of Education, as part of a project for the SEED Teaching Innovation Fund.
