Ways to Wellbeing: Be active

There's a range of options to get active at UoM

Be active

Be Active encompasses any physical activity or movement that works for you, your ability, your other commitments and that you find enjoyable!

Physical activity isn’t just about keeping fit. Research shows it can help us to think and feel more positively, sleep better and have more energy which can improve our physical and mental wellbeing. It can be categorised into three forms: light, moderate and vigorous.

Inspiration

Go for a walk or be out in your garden before you start your day, during lunch or just after work, in place of a commute. Try and embed 10,000 steps or movement a day to keep your heart, joints and muscles healthy.

Try a 30-minute activity each day such as walking, running, Yoga or Zumba get family, friends and work colleagues involved.
