Academic promotion procedures
Promotion committees are held each year and academic staff are invited and encouraged to put forward applications.
Applications are assessed by schools and faculties. Each faculty will publish its own timetable but generally a call for applications will go out in the autumn and the deadline for submissions will be in the new year. Promotion committees meet in the first few months of the year. Details are published on each faculty intranet together with school/faculty specific paperwork/forms, etc.
To apply you will need to submit a detailed case which demonstrates that you meet the criteria for the higher grade.
