Age

Age is a protected characteristic and can be the subject of direct discrimination and victimisation.

When referring to age we mean any age - certain factors may have an impact on different groups of people, therefore we are required to ensure we recognise these.

The University is committed to providing a positive working and learning environment free from discrimination, harassment, or victimisation on the grounds of age, or perceived age where all staff are treated with respect and dignity.

We no longer have a fixed retirement age at the University and employ people of all ages, adhering to the principles set out in the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy and the Retirement policy.

If you would like any further information on this or any other equality issue please contact us.
