Our Wellbeing Commitment

Wellbeing Commitment, detailing our three areas of focus - thriving place, headspace and psychologically safe place

Our goal is to create a working environment where all members of our colleague community feel able to thrive, feel well, and reach their full potential. This is central to Our people, our values commitment within our vision and strategic plan, Our future, and the People and Organisational Development strategy launched in October 2022, where we made a resounding commitment to employee wellbeing.

Our wellbeing commitment

To guide our approach and ensure consistency across the University, we have developed Our wellbeing commitment. This outlines our vision for colleague wellness and the strategies we will employ to achieve it, alongside how we will promote the importance of individual’s looking after their own wellbeing.

Our commitment is informed by conversations with colleagues during focus groups and workshops, participation in various meetings, and one-on-one sessions, as well as a thorough analysis of our Staff Survey 2022 results. We’ve also drawn upon best practices, research findings, and external benchmarks to shape our approach.

Our Vision

We take a proactive approach to enable positive wellbeing, creating environments across our University where people can thrive and encouraging individuals to prioritise their wellbeing. Wellbeing is embedded within our University culture and is a key consideration during times of change
