AGE-RELATED ABILITY TO SYNTHESISE VITAMIN D IN THE SKIN ON EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT
Researchers from the University of Manchester are looking for white caucasian volunteers aged 18 to 40 and 65 to 89 to take part in a study to see if there is a difference between young and older adults in how much Vitamin D is their skin able to produce on response to sunlight. The study involves giving ultraviolet light exposures and measuring vitamin D production using blood and small skin samples. Reimbursement will be provided for travel costs, and time and inconvenience involved.
