The Movers & Shakers Network is a community of proactive, influential colleagues from across Professional Services at The University of Manchester. These individuals are passionate about shaping a better future and play a key role in driving change, sparking ideas, and turning ambition into action. Often seen as champions of new initiatives, they act as connectors, thought leaders, and catalysts for continuous improvement.
Movers & Shakers exists to support and energise the delivery of the PS Vision. By fostering collaboration, encouraging innovation, and empowering colleagues at all levels, the network helps bring our shared goals to life. It’s a space where people come together to share challenges, inspire each other, and lead from wherever they are.
Our Objectives
- Bring the PS Vision to Life: We help turn the PS Vision into meaningful change, connecting strategic aims with everyday work, and inspiring colleagues to get involved.
- Lead from Every Level: You don’t need a formal title to lead. Movers & Shakers empowers colleagues at all levels to take initiative, influence change, and make things better.
- Encourage Collaboration Across PS: We break down silos, build relationships, and promote a culture where people share challenges, ideas, and successes.
- Champion Innovation and Improvement: We support a mindset of curiosity and continuous improvement, encouraging people to test new approaches and share what works.
- Build Confidence and Capability: Movers & Shakers provides space for learning, reflection and support, so that individuals feel confident and equipped to create positive change.
