Ash Field to lead on the strategic direction of the University's pension service

Dear colleagues

I’m delighted to announce that Ash Field will be joining our Directorate as Head of Pensions on Monday, 13 September 2021. 

Ash will lead on the strategic direction for the leadership and management of the pension’s service to the University, its subsidiaries and stakeholders.

He is currently the Group Pensions Scheme Secretary for Capita plc and has worked within their Group Pensions Team for 9 years. Ash is a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute, where he acts as a Senior Examiner to a module for the Advanced Diploma, and also sits on an industry working group. 

Prior to embarking on a career change into pensions he worked for the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy based in the North West. 

Commenting on his appointment Ash said: ‘I’m delighted to be joining such a prestigious organisation as The University of Manchester and I’m looking forward to working with the University, Trustees and members at what is an important time for pension provision across all its schemes’.

I’m sure you will join me in welcoming Ash to the Directorate and I look forward to working with him in the coming months.
