Dear colleagues,

As you will probably have seen the Government has announced that the next step in the planned easing of COVID-19 restrictions will be delayed until 19 July.

This means that our current operational plans will remain in place for the time being. Staff who are working from home should continue to do so unless asked by their line manager to return to work on campus.

We continue to strongly encourage all students and staff to take up vaccination if offered and to have COVID-19 tests twice a week. Self-test kits are available on the campus or directly from the NHS. You can also continue to get tested on the campus. Regular testing is an essential part of keeping everyone safe on the campus.

While some people will be frustrated by the delay, the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and the wider local community remain our primary concern. We continue to have a full range of support services available if you feel like you need any additional support.

Best wishes

Professor Nalin Thakkar, Vice-President for Social Responsibility
