Export controls and end of Brexit transition period

24 Nov 2020

Advice for University staff and students who are currently involved in export-controlled activities in relation to EU member states

The Brexit transition period ends on 31 December 2020, and rules for exporting some types of items will change and come into force from 1 January 2021.

In the event of a no-deal Brexit, the UK Government has created an Open General Export Licence (OGEL) to allow for the continuation of such exports after the UK leaves the EU.

Be aware that if you are involved in export-controlled activities with the EU, you must be registered to export under this OGEL.

We recommend that you register yourself and your European collaborators by as soon as possible by filling in form 5b and sending it to the ECC Team at ecc@manchster.ac.uk

For further information please visit the Export Controls website.
