Network downtime in Kilburn tonight

29 Jul 2020

University network unavailable in the Kilburn Building for approximately 40 minutes from 7.30pm on Wednesday 29 July

UPDATE: Software upgrade successful and network services restored to schedule.

An essential software upgrade needs to be applied to network equipment in the Kilburn Building. This will result in a network outage of around 40 minutes starting at 7.30pm on Wednesday 29 July, and will impact the Kilburn Building only.

Whereas there will be no colleagues working in the building at this time, if you are using remote desktop to connect to a University computer in the Kilburn building, then you will lose your connection while the software upgrade takes place.

This essential upgrade has been scheduled to take place out of hours to reduce impact. IT Services and network partner Roc Technologies apologise for any inconvenience. The network downtime is expected to last up to 40 minutes, but the change window is from 7.30pm until 11.30pm to accommodate for any unforeseen issues.
