IT Services planned network maintenance announcement

Following discussions with the Teaching and Learning Group Executive about the potential impact on our students, and given the recent network connectivity issues, we are postponing the planned work to upgrade our data centres to the weekend of the 13 and 14 June.

This is a joint decision taken by IT Services and the Teaching and Learning Group Executive. The planned work will now take place after the student examination period has concluded.

Why are we doing this work?

As you may be aware, the University is undergoing an extensive programme of improvements to the University network, to enhance the wired and Wi-Fi network for our staff and students. The works also include upgrades to the equipment in our data centres – a key part of our network infrastructure.

Thank you for bearing with us as we work towards making the University network more reliable and resilient for everyone.
