Giving Tuesday brought back to campus for second successful year

19 Dec 2019

On Tuesday, 3 December the Student Communications and Student Wellbeing teams worked together to deliver another successful Giving Tuesday event

Starting at 7am, the teams hung envelopes across the University from Sackville Street to Samuel Alexander Building. Overall, 6,000 envelopes containing positive postcards were distributed around both South and North campus with the help of the Wellbeing Champions.

In the spirit of Give, each envelope contained two postcards; meaning the recipient of the envelope could keep one for themselves and pass the second one onto a friend.

Give is one of our Six Ways to Wellbeing, and it is the focus of our campaigns throughout the festive period of November and December. Give embodies more than just giving material gifts, but also includes giving your thanks, giving your time and giving a message of appreciation and positivity as represented by the postcards.

Speaking to students, they told us that the positive messages helped to brighten their day and put a smile on their faces. The campaign was well received by both students and staff alike.
