Are you a female academic researcher who wants to write for The Conversation?

01 Jul 2019

Attend a female-led writing workshop for The Conversation, delivered by Professor Colette Fagan

The Coversation

The University is hosting a female-led writing workshop for The Conversation on Monday, 15 July, 3:00pm – 5:00pm at the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC), 2D Market Place.

Delivered by one of The Conversation female editors, Professor Colette Fagan, Vice-President for Research at the University, the session will look at:

  • How to write about your research in a clear, concise and compelling way
  • How to plan, pitch and write with greater impact
  • How to tailor and target your work to gain the attention of people beyond your own peers – such as the media

To take part in the workshop, email Jordan Kenny. Spaces are limited so will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The Conversation

The Conversation is an independent news website written by academics and researchers, providing expert analysis, comment and opinion. Since joining The Conversation in 2017, 141 of our academics and researchers have published nearly 200 articles, generating more than 3.6 million reads.

However, the voices of our female academics, especially early career academics, and those from BAME backgrounds are still under-represented on this platform. For this session we particularly encourage female academics that fall into these categories to join the session.

**UPDATE: This session is now fully booked, however if you'd like to be added to the waiting list for a future session, please email Jordan Kenny.
