IT Service Week runs from 1 to 5 October 2018 - and the theme this year is magic!
This dedicated week marks a national celebration of IT Services, recognising excellent customer service which is provided daily to both staff and students. This initiative is sponsored by the Service Desk Institute (SDI), an international professional body for IT Service Desks.
Colleagues in the IT Support Centre work hard to provide IT support for research, teaching and learning. They’re a very busy team and often have to problem solve to get to the bottom of the issues you’re experiencing. During this year’s Welcome Week alone they answered a staggering 1,821 phone calls.
In IT Services we have a week full of activities and initiatives including decorations, photo props, fancy dress and more. You can get involved in the following ways:
- Vote for your favourite analyst – If an IT Support Analyst has offered you stand-out levels of customer service, you can show some recognition by nominating them in this year's IT Service Week Awards. There's also an option to vote for our IT Support Centre to win the ‘Top Support Team ITSW 2018’ title.
- Share your magic tricks! If you can juggle, back-flip or pull Haribo eggs out from behind your ears, we want to hear from you! Email Reeya Patel, IT Marketing and Communications Officer, to volunteer yourself for a photo!
- Engage with us – We’re posting photos, videos, and surveys on IT social media channels – we’d love it if you can share and show us some social love on Twitter and Facebook.
