Join Salford Royal's celebration of International Clinical Trials Day on Tuesday, 21 May (1-7pm).
Have you ever wondered how clinical trials and research helps to improve treatments and healthcare for NHS patients? Then why not join University researchers from the Research and Development team over at Salford Royal to celebrate International Clinical Trials Day.
The first known controlled trial compared different treatments for scurvy and was carried out by Scottish physician James Lind in 1747. International Clinical Trials Day takes place each year to celebrate Lind’s work and to raise awareness of the importance of research to health care.
This year, Salford Royal is holding a celebration highlighting how clinical trials and health research at the Trust is improving lives in Salford and beyond.
The event will take place in Mayo Building, Salford Royal, Stott Lane, Salford, M6 8HD.
There will be opportunity for you to:
- Meet the staff and teams involved in research;
- Guided tours round the Barnes Clinical Research Facility (CRF);
- Discover some of the ground breaking and innovative research taking place in Salford.
