Nominations are invited for the Michael Faraday Prize and the Kohn Award by 8 February
Michael Faraday Prize
This is awarded annually to the scientist or engineer whose expertise in communicating scientific ideas in lay terms is exemplary. The medal is of silver gilt and is accompanied by a gift of £2,500. The winner is called upon to deliver a lecture at the Society. (The most recent award holder is Professor Brian Cox OBE.)

This is for UK-based, early-career stage scientists who have undertaken high-quality public engagement activities that have had (or will have) a strategic impact on institutions, organisations and cultures. The medal is of silver gilt and is accompanied by a grant of £7,500 for science communication activities and a gift of £2,500.

The closing date for returning completed nomination forms for both awards is 8 February 2013.
Anyone may nominate a candidate for a Royal Society medal, award or prize lectureship.
