Public engagement with the British Science Association

On Thursday, 31 January 2013 (5.15 – 7pm), in The Manchester Museum, Discovery Centre, ground floor.
Are you interested in public engagement and science communication? Do you want to meet other like-minded people? Are you looking for a range of opportunities to get involved in?
The British Science Association Manchester Branch and The University of Manchester invite you to come along to a fun, informal, interactive information session. You will get the chance to:
- Hear about national and local public engagement opportunities
- Find out about volunteering with the British Science Association
- Meet the regional coordinator and members of the Manchester branch
- Get hands on and help design family-friendly activities, for the Big Saturdays family days at the Manchester Museum.
A free, light snack buffet will also be available.
Who are we?
The British Science Association is a UK nationwide, open membership organisation, which provides opportunities for people of all ages to learn about, discuss and challenge the sciences and their implications. The Manchester Branch engages and inspires members of the public through a diverse range of different science, technology, engineering and maths events. Branch events cover a wide variety of topics in a rich variety of formats, from traditional talks to drama productions, SciBars and film screenings. The branch network attracts a wide range of volunteers with different skills and interests.
Who is this for?
Anyone across Greater Manchester with an interest in sharing a passion for science is welcome to attend. Whether you are looking to work with an existing network of volunteer science communicators or are considering organising your own public engagement events, this information session is for you.
