Confidence Chinese

Spread across 10 levels, this series is designed for those who wish to develop their communication skills but have a limited amount of time. The sessions are run once a week on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm. Only £120* (just £6 per hour). * UoM Staff and student discounts apply.

Step-by-step Chinese

With three levels, this series caters for students of all abilities who wish to develop all four skills i.e. reading, writing, speaking and listening, in parallel. Participants are required to commit to two evenings per week. Step sessions run on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-8pm. Only £240* (just £6 per hour). * UoM staff and student discounts apply.

HSK 4 Preparation

Comprising tailor-made learning materials, this tailor-made course will cover the full range of topics, grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structures required for the HSK 4 examination in May. This course will be held on Thursdays from 6 – 8pm. £60 (just £5 per hour).

Chinese Calligraphy

This course will focus on learning how to use Chinese brushes and ink, mastering the basic strokes that underpin Chinese writing and understanding the structure Chinese characters. By the end of the course you will be able to create your own calligraphy works, worthy of decorating your home or office! No previous knowledge of Chinese is required. Tuesdays 5.30 – 7pm. £115* UoM Staff and student discounts apply.

If you study with us for an entire year, you will be able to progress three levels by the end of the year! This will enable you to achieve a universally-recognised Chinese proficiency certificate.

Furthermore, as a Confucius Institute student, you will be eligible to apply for a Confucius Institute scholarship to study in China!
