Zumbathon is back and we want it to be bigger and better than ever! Come and take part in the two hour Zumbathon charity dance/fitness workout on Saturday 15 October 2011 from 11am-1pm at the Armitage Centre, Fallowfield.

The health, fitness and wellbeing courses for the new term are booking up fast. All eight-week enrolment courses start week commencing 17 October 2011 at various locations across campus including the Sackville Street building, the Armitage Centre and the Wellbeing Rooms. There is something for all fitness levels and abilities so sign up and give it a go.

FREE swim for both staff and students!
Try out the famous Manchester Aquatics Centre pool for FREE on Wednesday 12 October 2011 between 9am and 5pm. The free swim is open to all members of staff and students of The University of Manchester on production of your University ID card at reception!
Reduced rate bone density screening
SPORT Manchester is offering staff the opportunity to get a discounted bone density screening to raise awareness of Osteoporosis. The screenings will take place on Monday 17 October in the Wellbeing Rooms and will be conducted by Tracey Hunt MSc, BSc (Hons) and Isobel Pugh MSc, BA (Hons) using a machine called a heel ultrasound scanner. The test is safe, quick, has no side effects and most importantly, it is painless! The cost is £30.00 and payments can be made on the day by cheque or cash.

New 5-a-side pitches now taking bookings!
The two outdoor 5-a-side pitches at the Armitage Sports Centre have recently been resurfaced with the latest 3G artificial turf. This top of the range facility is now open for bookings with a fantastic staff rate of just £29.00 (55mins).
