Next meeting of the Manchester GPU Club

The University’s GPU Club brings together University researchers working with GPUs to share experiences and learn from one another. 

The first GPU Club of 2011/12 will be held on Friday 30 September in 1.219 in University Place.

There will be a variety of speakers taking part including:

  • 2pm: Introduction and overview of GPU research at The University of Manchester (IT Services for Research)
  • 2:15pm: Perri Needham, School of Chemistry:  To C or not to C: GPU programming in FORTRAN
  • 2:35pm: Daniel Valdez Balderas, MACE: Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Simulations on Multi-GPU Clusters
  • 2:55pm: Will Thompson, School of Maths: Fast algebraic reconstruction for real time x-ray CT
  • 3:15pm: Future plans
  • 3:30pm: Close
