Erasmus funding to undertake teaching/training in Europe 2010/2011

22 Mar 2011

The Study Abroad Unit has a limited amount of remaining Erasmus funding for staff mobility

Erasmus offers a well funded opportunity for both academic and administrative staff to teach or work elsewhere in one of the 30 participating countries in Europe. You can get to know first-hand the workings of another European educational system, deliver a course with European colleagues and/or discover best practices to bring back to your role in Manchester. Teaching or training visits must be concluded by 15 July 2011 and all associated documentation and claims processed by 27 July without exception.

There are two strands of staff mobility:

  • Teacher Mobility (TM): The Teacher Mobility scheme provides funding to teach from 5 hours to 6 weeks at another European University.

  • Staff Training Mobility (ST): The Staff Training Mobility scheme provides funding for staff to acquire training at another European institution of Higher Education or at a European enterprise. ALL staff are eligible. The purpose of the mobility is to allow the participant to learn by transfer of knowledge and to acquire practical skills and knowledge of good practice that they can apply to their current position at The University of Manchester. Training may include: a short secondment, job-shadowing, language training, seminars, workshops, courses.

If you have a training project in mind but need help identifying a potential host the University’s Study Abroad Unit can put you in contact with our existing partners. Please note that this funding is not intended to support conference attendance.
