Wood ‘Tweet’ Mission – in Festival spirit

17 Mar 2011

The Wood Street Mission charity (which the University already supports with its Easter and Christmas projects) has been chosen as the beneficiary for Manchester Twestival 2011

Wood Street Mission is one of Manchester’s oldest and most established local charities; its aim is to alleviate the effects of poverty on children in families in Manchester and Salford. Funds raised at the Manchester Twestival event will go to Wood Street’s Clothing Project, which provides vital, practical help for more than 4,500 local children and parents in desperate need of clothing, bedding, baby equipment and toys.

This year’s event will take place on 24 March at Noho in the Northern Quarter from 6.30pm. Tickets cost £6 with all profits going to Wood Street. There will also be a charity auction, DJs and special guests.
