A career boost for research staff

16 Feb 2011

Applications open for Researchers into Management accredited course

Post-Doctoral Research Associates can apply for the acclaimed University course, Researchers into Management. This popular course has been over-subscribed for the last three cohorts, and you can read their feedback on the course website.

Researchers into Management aims to develop researchers as leaders and managers - whether they aspire to become a research group leader, or a career in any sector. It is an engaging and interactive course, bringing the content into the relevance of daily working life. The programme, plus benefits to PIs and research groups, are detailed on the course website.

Researchers into Management is externally accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management. It is a collaboration between STDU and Faculty Researcher Development teams, and brings in a range of external and internal specialist presenters. It runs over nine days from March to July 2011, applications close on 7 March 2011, and there's an overview briefing on Tuesday 22 February, 12 noon to 2pm, for potential applicants to find out more.

This course helps to fulfil the University's commitment to the career development of researchers - as required by the UK Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers[1], and the Grant Conditions of RCUK[2].
