The Martin Harris Centre is delighted to host the Manchester Pride Chamber Music Concerts. The recitals, which are now in their third year, celebrate lesbian, gay, bsexual and transgender (LGBT) composers, and feature internationally renowned artists as well as young, local talent. This year marks the centenary of the birth of Samuel Barber - the composer most famous for his "Adagio for Strings", used in films such as "Platoon" and "The Elephant Man". Each concert will include some of Barber's glorious chamber music and songs, featuring performances by oboist Nicholas Daniel, tenor David Maxwell Anderson, pianists Ashley Wass & Leon McCawley, and the Ensemble CHROMA. There will also be a world premiere of a new work by Manchester Pride's new Composer-in-Association, Marc Yeats.
