Former Chancellor of the Victoria University of Manchester has died

Lord Flowers of Queen's Gate has passed away peacefully at home in London on Friday 25 June 2010 at the age of 85.

Lord Flowers joined the Victoria University of Manchester in 1958, becoming Langworthy Professor of Physics there in 1961, until he was seconded to be Chairman of the Science Research Council in 1967. He was Chancellor of the University from 1995 to 2001.

The funeral is strictly private and the family has requested that no flowers be sent. Donations can be made to:
