Box of Broadcasts: new off-air recording service

Any member of staff can now schedule recording of broadcast TV

Teaching Support Services has subscribed to and is providing a new off air recording service to all staff.

Box of Broadcasts (BoB) is a streaming video service which allows any member of University staff to log on and schedule a broadcast TV program to be recorded via the system. The recording is stored permanently and can be played back at any time.

Recordings made by any user of BoB at any institution can view programs recorded by any other user. This means that even if a member of staff from The University of Manchester hasn't scheduled a program to record, it will still be available to view if any other BoB user in the country has recorded it.

The system is fully compliant with the Educational Recording Agency (ERA+) license held by the University.
