New HEFCE call for WP Strategic Assessments.

In January, the HEFCE set out details of the new form of monitoring and reporting for universities on widening participation – more information is available at:
This new arrangement will provide the University with an opportunity to demonstrate and take credit for all the work it does in respect of WP, and show how it is embedded in our mission and policy, for example via our:
- links with schools, colleges and communities
- outreach activity through campus visits, mentoring, summer schools etc
- monitoring of student success and targeted support for entrants
- provision of wider learning opportunities for mature and part-time students
- monitoring of appropriateness of curriculum and learning environments for a diverse student body
In order to begin the development of Manchester’s Widening Participation Strategic Assessment an Open Meeting has been arranged for all staff with an interest in widening participation and fair access.
It would be helpful to have an indication of numbers – so if you’re planning to attend, please inform:
