Cycling Update.

21 Jan 2009

Rides, tax-free bikes, and free security marking.

Monthly Cycle to Work Rides continue throughout 2009 - next one Wednesday 4 February

New Year health plan already over?? Fit some exercise into your working day!!

As we head towards spring and milder weather, remember every first Wednesday of the month we have Cycle to Work Rides from seven locations into the Oxford Road area.

Next Cycle to Work Ride: Wednesday 4 February

For full routes, timings and details, visit:

These rides are led by our friendly route guides and are for everyone, especially novices.

As part of new funding for the rides, we now offer FREE refreshments at University Place at 8.30am for all participants. Ask your route guide for details.

One to one rides

If you can't make the Wednesday rides but want to try your route, many of our fantastic route guides will happily show you another time. Just contact me and I'll see what I can do - the areas covered will be as per the current seven routes (we hope to expand this number over time).

Tax free bikes - coming soon!!

Look out for a leaflet on our new Cycle to Work Scheme in February's Unilife. For information on how this works, visit:

Bike security marking

There will be a bike security marking event on Tuesday 27 January, from 8am to 4pm.

Location: Outside Central Library, St Peter's Square

Police and Community Safety Co-ordinators will security mark your bike for free and offer other basic security tips.
